Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Thermal Products
Location: Dallas / Irving, TX
Compensation: $120,000 to $150,000 base salary, depending on experience

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
5+ years of mechanical design, product design, or manufacturing engineering experience
Hands-on experience with thermal products, heat exchangers, cooling packages, HVAC, refrigeration, radiators, coils, industrial cooling, or similar heat transfer products
Strong experience supporting manufacturing, production, quality, tooling, fixtures, product troubleshooting, or plant floor problem solving
Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools
Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, BOMs, ECOs, design documentation, and revision control
Experience with sheet metal fabrication, welding, brazing, machining, assembled products, tooling, fixtures, or related manufacturing processes
About the Role:
An established manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, improvement, and manufacturing of thermal products and cooling related assemblies.
This is an onsite role in the Dallas / Irving, TX area. The right person will be comfortable working close to the product, the production floor, and real manufacturing problem solving.
This is not a hands-off management role. This position is best suited for an engineer who wants to own designs, work with operations, troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues, and improve products for performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Own and maintain mechanical product designs, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and engineering change documentation.
Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
Support design changes driven by quality, cost, performance, manufacturability, customer needs, or production feedback.
Work closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations to improve products and resolve issues.
Apply DFM, DFA, and DFMA principles to sheet metal, welded, brazed, machined, and assembled products.
Support tooling, fixtures, prototypes, validation builds, functional testing, and production launches.
Analyze field, test, and manufacturing feedback to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
Support APQP, PPAP, design records, drawings, specifications, PFMEA input, control plans, and dimensional/capability reviews where applicable.
Contribute to continuous improvement, value engineering, quality improvement, and cost reduction projects.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with OE manufacturing, APQP, PPAP, ISO environments, product validation, control plans, PFMEA input, or launch documentation
Experience working directly with production, quality, operations, suppliers, or customer engineering contacts
Experience improving manufacturability, reducing cost, improving quality, reducing scrap, improving throughput, or solving recurring production issues
Experience mentoring junior engineers, designers, or technical team members while remaining hands-on
