Job Title: Head of IT
Location: Remote, with occasional Nashville meetings
Compensation: $130,000 to $160,000 base
Job Type: Direct Hire
Job Overview:
We are working with a growing national professional services company that is hiring a Head of IT to own internal technology operations, vendor management, platform health, and IT execution across the business.
This is a permanent, full-time role. The position is generally remote, but candidates should be able to attend occasional meetings in Nashville, TN. There may also be a yearly company retreat.
The company is looking for a hands-on IT leader who can operate as the single point of accountability for internal technology outcomes. This person will manage a small internal IT function, coordinate with outside vendors and partners, support executive leadership, and help build a more mature IT roadmap as the company continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own internal IT outcomes across uptime, user experience, issue triage, and incident response
- Manage and coordinate outside technology vendors, including MSP, MSSP, Salesforce, and other platform partners
- Support the health of systems including Salesforce, Microsoft 365, identity, endpoints, candidate portal, website integrations, and related business applications
- Build and maintain an IT roadmap aligned with company growth, compliance, security, and operational priorities
- Partner with leadership on business continuity, disaster recovery, workflow automation, responsible AI usage, and technology planning
- Lead and coach internal IT staff while continuing to professionalize the IT function
- Support compliance, audit response, vendor renewals, budgeting, and technology contracts
Ideal Background:
- 10+ years of progressive technology experience
- At least 3 years in an IT leadership, ownership, or management role
- Experience managing vendors, MSPs, MSSPs, contractors, or major technology partners
- Salesforce experience is required
- Experience with Microsoft 365, identity management, endpoints, and internal business systems
- Experience in a regulated or compliance-adjacent environment such as legal, financial services, healthcare, professional services, or similar
- Strong communication skills with executives, partners, stakeholders, and non-technical users
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and take ownership during incidents or escalations
- This role is best suited for someone who has both leadership maturity and hands-on technical depth. The company is not looking for a strategist-only profile or someone who wants to outsource every issue. They need someone who can own problems, manage ambiguity, ask the right questions, and drive issues to resolution.
