Overview
We are partnering with a growing national professional services company seeking a Director of IT & Business Platforms to lead internal technology operations, business systems, vendor management, and platform ownership across the organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can bridge operational IT, business applications, platform governance, and executive communication. The company is looking for a practical operator who can take ownership of internal technology outcomes while helping modernize systems, improve workflows, and support continued growth.
The environment includes a lean internal IT structure supported by outside partners and vendors. This role will work closely with leadership, external technology providers, and internal stakeholders to improve operational maturity, platform effectiveness, security, and scalability.
The position is primarily remote, with occasional meetings in Nashville and periodic company gatherings.
Key Responsibilities
Own internal technology operations across infrastructure, business systems, vendor management, platform health, and end-user experience
Serve as the primary internal owner for Salesforce and related business platforms, coordinating with outside vendors, consultants, and technical resources as needed
Manage and oversee MSP, MSSP, software, cloud, and technology vendor relationships
Support Microsoft 365, identity management, endpoints, integrations, collaboration tools, and related operational systems
Help improve workflow automation, reporting, business processes, and operational efficiency across the organization
Partner with leadership on IT planning, security, business continuity, budgeting, renewals, and technology roadmap initiatives
Lead internal IT personnel while helping define a scalable long-term operating model
Drive accountability across incidents, escalations, uptime, support responsiveness, and platform adoption
Ideal Background
10+ years of progressive IT and business systems experience
Leadership experience across internal IT operations, infrastructure, business applications, or platform management
Salesforce exposure from an administration, implementation, vendor management, operational ownership, or platform governance perspective
Experience managing MSPs, vendors, consultants, or outsourced support models
Strong Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint, and collaboration platform experience
Experience supporting professional services, legal, financial services, healthcare, or other operationally complex environments
Strong communication skills with executives, technical teams, vendors, and non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable operating in lean environments where adaptability, ownership, and practical execution matter
Additional Notes
This is not a strategist-only role or a deeply hands-on developer position. The company is looking for someone who can own technology outcomes, coordinate the right resources, improve operational maturity, and help bridge the gap between IT operations and business systems.
