Scope:
We’re looking for onsite IT support coverage in Winston-Salem. This is a plant environment and the role would be 3 days per week onsite. It’s very hands-on and user facing. Strong deskside skills are important, but just as important is communication, visibility, and follow through. The local leadership team wants someone who is responsive, organized, and keeps people informed while working issues. Soft skills matter a lot here.
At a high level, we’re looking for someone who can:
• Provide onsite deskside and plant floor support
• Troubleshoot Windows, printers, peripherals, and basic networking
• Support production PCs and equipment connectivity
• Work independently onsite while coordinating with Corporate IT remotely
• Communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, and management
• Stay organized and provide proactive updates on issues
Core Responsibilities
•Provide hands-on desktop support for PCs, printers, peripherals, and shop floor systems.
•Troubleshoot user issues and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely manner.
•Perform hardware replacements, including end-of-lease swaps and new equipment deployments.
•Serve as local ‘smart hands’ for corporate IT teams (network, server, security, etc.).
•Support badge systems, time clocks, label printers, and other plant-specific systems.
•Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes in coordination with HR.
•Document site-specific processes, configurations, and procedures.
•Communicate clearly with site leadership regarding IT issues and status updates.
Qualifications
•Sr level hands-on desktop and end-user support experience.
•Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows OS, hardware, and peripherals.
•Comfortable working independently in a production environment.
•Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical staff.
•Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
•Basic understanding of networking concepts is preferred.
