Senior Systems/Network Engineer (Microsoft Stack, Palo Alto) – Contract

Contract: 3–9 months (extensions likely)
Rate: $70–90/hr W2 (up to $110/hr 1099) depending on experience
Overview:
We’re supporting a healthcare client in Franklin with a high-level systems/network engineering need. This is a hands-on contract role (initial 3 months, extensions expected) where you’ll lead Microsoft stack administration, security hardening, and core networking in a regulated healthcare environment.
What You’ll Do:
Own day-to-day administration and upgrades across the Microsoft stack:
Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune/Autopilot, ConfigMgr/SCCM
Strengthen security posture: MFA, conditional access, GPO, patching, backups, identity & certificate management
Automate with PowerShell, improve monitoring, alerting, and documentation
Manage core networking: routing/switching, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi, segmentation
Work with Palo Alto firewalls (client migrated off SonicWall)
Support healthcare security requirements (HIPAA) and ensure compliance
What We’re Looking For:
7–10+ years senior experience with Microsoft stack and enterprise networking
Deep skill in AD/Entra ID, Azure, M365, Intune/Autopilot, SCCM/ConfigMgr, DNS/DHCP, PowerShell
Strong networking fundamentals, especially with Palo Alto (or similar NGFWs)
Track record delivering upgrades/migrations and stabilizing enterprise environments
Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries preferred
Certifications are a plus: Microsoft (AZ-104/305, SC-300, MS-500, MD-102), Palo Alto (PCNSA/PCNSE), Cisco (CCNA/CCNP)
